According to his string of tweets, Saltz buys about18coffees from a gasoline station at once, and then sticks them in the fridge and drinks them throughout a week.

In the video above, the Pulitzer Prize winner lays out his detailed technique– and protects what he calls his “rain gutter love” of deli coffee.

Here’s the detailed guidelines:

  • Purchase as much coffee as you desire: half routine, half decaf
  • Keep coffee in refrigerator until prepared to take in
  • Integrate 2 cups of coffee in a repurposed 7-11 Double Gulp, filled with ice
  • Consume through a multiple-use metal straw

Now, does this lead to a great coffee experience? That we can not say for sure. What is for sure, is that this is something Saltz is very passionate about and will continue to do throughout this time of social distancing, no matter what anybody tells him. And we say: You do you, Jerry. It’s gotten you this far, so keep doing it!
